Mr Hirsch Tibor, pictured with what we believe is Cannon’s Holy Grail.
A little look at some of the images from the Hirsch Tibor’s Hungarian
book written about Menahem Golan:
"Filmcézárok - Menahem Golan Birodalma"
"Movie-Caesers: The Empire of Menahem Golan"
"I was born in 1955 in Budapest. I graduated in 1979 in the Hungarian-English department of ELTE's faculty of arts. After university I studied screenwriting at MAFILM [former State-owned film company]. I began film criticism in 1980. From 1981 I became an associate of the Hungarian Film Institute.
As a student of screenwriting, my first lesson was plot construction. Later, after I studied film theory, film history and other Eastern-European creative arts I settled on screenwriting.
Even though we worship plot we only have a handful of well written films. That is why I want to meet and interview American filmmakers, moreover I enjoy any connection with filmmaking.
With this book, I do that now.
"The author interviewed Menahem Golan, the world famous film director and producer, when he worked on a film [Hanna's War, 1988] in Hungary. From this interview we can take a look behind the admired and envied glittering world of filmmaking.
We can come to know Mr. Golan's business philosophy, professional intent and goals, which within a short time made the director, Golan, and the Cannon Group, one of the world's greatest film production and distribution companies.
We will get to know the world famous directors and stars, who bring us the movies of Cannon”
