Pirates
was all set for 1987 UK launch from Cannon
Screen Entertainment (as
above), but it never quite made it due to the Cannon Group's fragile
finances. It made it to CSE in Germany. Warner handled the UK home video
release as Cannon Screen Entertainment was sold off. Warner went on to distribute many Cannon
films although Cannon returned to the UK with Cannon Video within a year. The Cannon
Screen Entertainment release was actually released to reviewers, as seen:
